Hon’ble Agriculture Minister visits NPPC

The National Plant Protection Centre had the honor of hosting His Excellency, the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, along with the Director of the Department of Agriculture. The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by the Program Director, setting the tone for a unified and dedicated atmosphere. The Staff of the National Plant Protection Centre (NPPC) presented traditional Khadar offerings, symbolizing our sincere congratulations.

His Excellency delivered a speech emphasizing the crucial role of NPPC in crop protection against pests, highlighting its significance in bolstering food security. His remarks echoed a shared vision for resilient agriculture, infusing our mission with renewed purpose.

Subsequently, the Program Director provided a comprehensive overview of the Center’s mission, highlighting major achievements in the 12th Five-Year Plan, ongoing initiatives, and a glimpse into forthcoming activities in the 13th Five-Year Plan.

The visit concluded with His Excellency touring the research lab, witnessing firsthand the advancements in crop protection. His presence underscored our collective commitment to excellence in ensuring food security.

Mrs. Yeshey Dema

Mrs. Yeshey Dema joined the civil service on 26th February 1996. She headed the Soil Fertility Unit, NSSC from 2008 till 2013. In 2013, she was transferred to the National Plant Protection Centre as the Program Director. She holds M. Phil in Soil Science from the University of Reading, UK.
