An updated global COI barcode reference data set for Fall Armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) and first record of this species in Bhutan

The NPPC recently published a paper: An updated global COI barcode reference data set for Fall Armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) and first record of this species in Bhutan in the Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology reporting the first detection of Fall armyworm (FAW) in Bhutan. The paper provides a confirmatory identification of this invasive pest through an integrated taxonomy, using both morphological and molecular techniques. Apart from that, the paper also provides a vetted COI DNA barcode reference data set for FAW as a reference for anyone accessing a publicly available DNA barcode repository to identify this pest.
