A seminar on the future direction of research and development activities in pest and disease management was conducted on 23rd December 2024 at the National Plant Protection Centre (NPPC). The session was facilitated by Dr. Thinlay, an eminent expert in the field. The seminar was attended by the Program Director, NPPC staff and Regional Plant Protection Officers of ARDC Samtenling and ARDC Wengkhar.
Dr. Thinlay emphasized the need to adopt holistic approaches to pest and disease management to minimize crop losses. The discussion included the integration of cultural and biological methods along with the chemical to ensure sustainable practices.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where staff engaged with the facilitator to discuss specific challenges faced by the NPPC in pest and disease management. The Program Director expressed gratitude to Dr. Thinlay for his insightful presentation and emphasized the need to implement the strategies discussed.
