A group of 18 new recruits under the Department of Agriculture visited the National Plant Protection Centre on 19/02/2025 as part of an orientation program. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the recruits to the important work carried out by the Centre. The recruits gathered with eager anticipation as the Program Director of the Centre took the stage. The Program Director shared insightful details about the NPPC’s purpose and significance in agriculture. During the presentation, the Program Director highlighted the Centre’s vision, mission, and mandate, focusing on its role in safeguarding plant health, supporting sustainable agriculture, and protecting the country’s crops from pests and diseases. After the presentation, the recruits were taken to the National Plant Protection Referral Laboratory. The laboratory is equipped with advanced facilities and technology for addressing plant diseases and pests.
