A strategy meeting for the Community-Based Human Wildlife Conflict (HWC) Project was conducted on 1st July 2025. The meeting brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on the project’s progress and strategic direction. The meeting was attended by the representatives from the JICA Head Office, HWC expert Mr. Yamabata san, the Project Director, and members from APEX Consultancy.

During the meeting, participants reviewed ongoing activities, discussed implementation challenges, and identified strategic actions to enhance community engagement and conflict mitigation efforts. Mr. Yamabata shared technical insights on sustainable HWC management practices based on international experience, while APEX Consultancy presented findings from recent field assessments. The Project Director emphasized the importance of aligning project interventions with local needs and ensuring active community participation.

The meeting concluded with the team planning a field visit to the project sites in Wangdue, Punakha and Dagana Dzongkhags to assess the ground situation and engage with the community and local stakeholders.
