A seminar on Pesticide calibration and formulation was held on 4th April 2025 for the officials of the National Plant Protection Centre (NPPC), aiming to enhance their knowledge and skills in the effective application of pesticides. Mr. Ugyen Dorji, the Program Head of the Pathology Program, led the calibration sessions.
The seminar began with a theory session, where Mr. Ugyen explained the significance of accurate pesticide calibration in ensuring effective pest control while minimizing environmental and health risks. He also demonstrated the correct techniques for calibrating pesticide application equipment.
Following the theory session, a hands-on practical session was conducted, providing participants with the opportunity to practice calibrating pesticide sprayers and other equipment.
After the lunch break, a presentation on the review of diagnostic techniques for pathogen detection was delivered by the Pathology Program. This session provided an in-depth overview of the latest methods used to identify plant pathogens accurately and efficiently.
