Final year students of BSc Agriculture of CNR visits NPPC

A total of 22 final year students of BSc Agriculture (Pre-service) along with tutor of CNR visited National Plant Protection Centre (NPPC) today. The Plant Protection is one of the main modules for the B Sc  Agriculture course.  The main objectives of the visit are to:

  • Familiarize the students with the Centre’s mandates and functions
  • Observe and get acquainted with insect pest and plant pathology

The half day program included the over all presentation of the Centre followed by the  presentation on major disease of rice and citrus. They also made visits to pathology laboratory and poly house where research on efficacy of sunrise against Sochum (Potamogeton distinctus) is being conducted.

Mrs. Yeshey Dema

Mrs. Yeshey Dema joined the civil service on 26th February 1996. She headed the Soil Fertility Unit, NSSC from 2008 till 2013. In 2013, she was transferred to the National Plant Protection Centre as the Program Director. She holds M. Phil in Soil Science from the University of Reading, UK.
