First year students of BSc Agriculture visited NPPC

A total of 37 first year students of BSc Agriculture (Pre-service) along with one tutor of CNR visited National Plant Protection Centre (NPPC) on 28th May 2018. The Plant Protection (PLP101) is one of the modules for the BSc course in the first semester.  The main objectives of the visit were to:

  • Familiarize the students with the Centre’s mandates and functions
  • Observe and get acquainted with insect pest & weed herbarium collection
  • Identify equipments used in the pathology laboratory.
  • To get acquainted Pest surveillance and ePest surveillance system

The day long program included the over all presentation of the Centre followed by the technical presentations by the Unit heads (Entomology, Pathology, Weeds & Vertebrate Pests  and PP Product).

Mrs. Yeshey Dema

Mrs. Yeshey Dema joined the civil service on 26th February 1996. She headed the Soil Fertility Unit, NSSC from 2008 till 2013. In 2013, she was transferred to the National Plant Protection Centre as the Program Director. She holds M. Phil in Soil Science from the University of Reading, UK.
