
The National Plant Protection Centre bade farewell to Mr. Doe Doe (the Plant Protection Specialistof the Centre) acknowledging his significant contributions to the field of agriculture over the span of his 32-years career in civil service.
Mr. Doe Doe began his journey in the civil service on 1st February, 1991, when he joined Department of Research and Development Services, Ministry of Agriculture, Semtokha Thimphu as an Assistant Plant Pathologist after completing his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Agriculture Science, Bangalore, India in 1990. After his initial position in Semtokkha, he was transferred to RPPC, Khangma, Trashigang, where he served as the Officer Incharge. In 1995, he completed his master’s program in Technology of Crop Protection from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.
In 1996, he returned to the National Plant Protection Centre in Thimphu as a senior Pathologist. He also held the position of Program Director at the NPPC from 2009 to 2012.
Throughout his career, Mr. Doe Doe demonstrated selfless dedication and made significant contributions to the agricultural sector, ultimately contributing to the overall development of agriculture in the country over the last three decades. Above all, he played a pivotal role in the creation of the NPPC Vision Document, showcasing his impactful contribution to the Centre.
