NPPC General Meeting 2021

The annual general meeting of the National Plant Protection Centre for year 2021 was conducted on 30th June 2021 at the NPPC conference hall. The meeting commenced with an opening note by the Program Director of the NPPC. The regional plant protection focal from Agriculture Research and Development Centre (ARDC) of Wengkhar in East, Samtenling in South and Bajo in West-Central region also attended the meeting virtually. The key points covered were Preparation of work plan and discussion on plant protection related issues with the regional PP focal; Modality on storage of pesticide at ARDCs for emergency and formulation of the long-term strategic plan for making the transition into organic agriculture; And also illegal import and distribution of pesticides were discussed with the PP focal. The house also discussed on annual report, annual performance agreement (APA), Individual workplan (IWP) and budget utilization of fiscal year 2020-2021. The house unanimously agreed to initiate NPPC Welfare Fund Scheme (WFS) to provide support to the member staff during difficult circumstances.
The meeting concluded at 17:00 hours with the Program Director thanking all the staff and regional Plant Protection focal for their cooperation. The management of the NPPC would like to thank Weed Management Program and Vertebrate Pests Management Program for the delicious meeting lunch.

Mrs. Yeshey Dema

Mrs. Yeshey Dema joined the civil service on 26th February 1996. She headed the Soil Fertility Unit, NSSC from 2008 till 2013. In 2013, she was transferred to the National Plant Protection Centre as the Program Director. She holds M. Phil in Soil Science from the University of Reading, UK.
