Officials from APD, DoA visited NPPC

A team of officials from the APD, DoA led by the Chief visited the National Plant Protection Centre today. The main purpose of the visit, as highlighted by the Chief was to meet the staff of NPPC and to review the:

  1. Alignment of the Centre’s programs with the 12 FYP
  2. Highlights of the 2020-2021 activities and
  3. Activities of the approved budget for FY 2021-2022


The Program Director in the welcome note thanked the Division for the visit and emphasized on the importance of such visits. However, future visits could be scheduled before the finalization of the activities and before the budget discussions so the Division could well represent and justify the budget for importance activities of the Centre. Discussions on challenges and way forward were discussed. A visit to the lab and to the construction of the bio-control lab was made following the presentations and discussions.

Mrs. Yeshey Dema

Mrs. Yeshey Dema joined the civil service on 26th February 1996. She headed the Soil Fertility Unit, NSSC from 2008 till 2013. In 2013, she was transferred to the National Plant Protection Centre as the Program Director. She holds M. Phil in Soil Science from the University of Reading, UK.
