Training on PPP-IMS

The National Plant Protection Centre conducted one day training on Plant Protection Product Information Management System (PPP-IMS) at Punakha. Twenty participants from ARDC-Bajo, ARDC-Samtenling, and Dzongkhag Agricultural officials and Extension Agents from Punakha attended the training. The same training was conducted at Haa(24th May, 2022), Paro(27th May, 2022) and Thimphu(31st May, 2022). The objectives of the training was to train the participants on usage of PPP-IMS system on Indent collection and distribution of plant protection products(pesticides).

With the PPP-IMS system developed the information on specific plant protection product use by location, and pest surveillance activities, it would allow our researchers to predict possible pest resurgence (resistance development) and provide necessary technical support. At the same time, over time it would also be possible to establish location specific (Dzongkhag level, Gewog level or at community levels) best options (technologies) of pest management. The system would also allow NPPC to track product use and its abuse cases. The PPP-IMS system was developed with funding support from GCF Project.
